Create unique prints or varied editions by combining monotype methods and collagraph plate-making. Explore the unique experience of working on your plate in three-dimensions and two-dimensions to create images with a unique perspective. Both found materials and intricate drypoint line detail may be used to build your image with the added spontaneity of monoprint methods. Numerous approaches for using Akua Intaglio soy based inks and Akua Liquid Pigments will be covered. Students will learn about the properties of individual pigments, characteristics of inks, and ink modifiers. Simple ways of printing a single plate and more complex multiple registered plates are covered. All materials used in the workshop are fume free and clean up easily with soap and water. Participants will use etching presses and have the opportunity to try hand printing with the Pin Press. Individual attention will help each student develop their personal style with the medium. Beginners and advanced printmakers are welcome
